Konda's Banner + Human Samurai
Asked by VynnRook 10 years ago
As I'm reading the card Konda's Banner It says that creatures that share both a Color and Creature Type with the equipped creature get a +1+1 Boost. My question is this, Human Samurai, does that relate to two seperate creature types? Humans; and then Samurai? Or is "Human Samurai" a single creature type? If I play something like Hand of Honor Does it get only two +1+1's for Color and creature type, or does it get Three? For Color, Human creature type, and then Samurai Creature type?
More importantly, I think, Konda's Banner doesn't check for each individual creature type/color. It checks a total of twice: "Does this creature share at least one color" and "Does this creature share at least one type". Any given creature will, at most, get a +2/+2 buff from Konda's Banner .

So it limits the boost to a single creature type? I guess if the card read "Each" creature type that would be different huh?

Right, the "shares a type?" comparison is only going to get a Yes/No answer. An effect that works with "each creature type" would produce a different result, but because of the bookkeeping problems from Avian Changeling and friends, no card would be printed that way.

Oh I can see how that could be quite easily exploited yeah.

All types, subtypes, and supertypes are single words. "Human" and "Samurai" are two separate creature types.
