If I float mana when can I use it before it's gone?

Asked by AlphabetEnthusiast 12 years ago

For instance, lets say I have a creature equipped with Worldslayer and it deals combat damage to the defending player. In my hand I have card:Faith's Reward and on the battlefield there is 2 plains and 2 forests. If I float the mana is there still time for me to cast the card:Faith's Reward after all my lands have been destroyed? Or is it too late? Also another question, with card:Faith's Reward could I cast it before and get the stuff back still? I figure if I could cast it after that would be better because the opponent might not float any mana if they had any untapped so then they couldn't counter card:Faith's Reward. Thanks for your help.

Mana empties from mana pools at the end of each step and phase.

When a creature with Worldslayer attached to it deals combat damage to a player, Worldslayer 's triggered ability goes onto the stack. This happens during the combat damage step. Before the ability resolves, you may cast spells and activate abilities. Therefore, you may float mana, wait until the triggered ability from Worldslayer resolves, and then cast card:Faith's Reward.

Note that card:Faith's Reward only returns permanent cards that were put into your graveyard from the battlefield this turn from before the time card:Faith's Reward resolves. It will not affect permanents that are put into your graveyard after resolution.
