Hundred-Handed One vs. Trample

Asked by MinscAndBoo 11 years ago

My opponent has a monstrous 6/8 Hundred-Handed One . I attack with two 5/5 trample Wurm tokens and a Loxodon Smiter . He blocks them all with the giant. Do I get to trample over for six, since Mr. Snuffles is also dealing four to the giant?

When creatures with trample assign damage to blockers, all damage already dealt to the blocking creature and all damage being dealt to it simultaneously counts toward the required lethal damage on the blocker. So in this case, you are about to assign a total of 14 damage to the Hundred-Handed One one, of which 8 is lethal. You can thus assign the remaining 6 to the defending player or planeswalker.
