How would multiple iterations of Cultivator of Blades interact with each other?

Asked by eggleman 8 years ago

I've done some math which I cannot believe if they stack separately. If they trigger separately in an order, then 4 at 3/3 would go...

|CoB 1| 3/3 3/3 9/9 21/21 57/57

|CoB 2| 3/3 6/6 6/6 24/24 60/60

|CoB 3| 3/3 6/6 12/12 12/12 48/48

|CoB 4| 3/3 6/6 12/12 36/36 36/36

Could someone clarify if this does happen or if they trigger at the same time to make them all 6/6.

Please link all cards relevant to your question: Cultivator of Blades

All instances trigger at the same time, but resolve seperately. The ability checks the power of the respective Cultivator at the time of resolution. In other words, they do stack.

I'm not sure about your example, as you include five values behind each creature, but here's my attempt at figuring out the final P/Ts:

  • Before anything resolves: 3/3 3/3 3/3 3/3
  • Cultivator #1 resolved: 3/3 6/6 6/6 6/6
  • Cultivator #2 resolved: 9/9 6/6 12/12 12/12
  • Cultivator #3 resolved: 21/21 18/18 12/12 24/24
  • Cultivator #4 resolved: 45/45 36/36 36/36 24/24
  • P/T of every other creature after this point: +45/+45

BlueScope after the 4th Cultivator trigger resolves, it should be a 45/45, 42/42, 36/36, and a 24/24. Other than that, those are all the correct values.

@metalmagic: Indeed... I wonder how I missed that, seeing as it's quite obvious that two shouldn't have the same P/T after everything resolves...

Ha, I understand though. A couple days ago I messed up an obvious P/T question with multiple Cultivators out, too. Simple math is hard.
