How many dryad arbors can be in a deck?

Asked by benosmash 11 years ago

I've seen decks on here that have up to 8 Dryad Arbor s in their mainboard. this confuses me because I'm used to seeing no more than 4 of any card unless it's a basic land. I couldn't see anything on Gathering that tells me the limit to number of this card in a deck.

You are right. There is nothing that allows a deck to contain more than 4 Dryad Arbor s. It's not a basic land so the rule applies to it. I don't know why you see decks with 8 of those. Can you link such a deck?

A deck and sideboard can only contain 4 copies of a card except basic lands. A Dryad Arbor is a land, but lacks the Basic supertype. The people running 8 Arbors are wrong.

Aerokid is correct here.

What I meant to say: Absinthman and Aerokid are both correct.

it might have been a mistake when I saw 8 Dryad Arbor s in the decks. It looks like tappedout automagically puts the number of listed Dryad Arbor s in the creatures and in the lands. (ex. I put 4x dryad arbor in my main board. it shows up as 4x in creatures and 4x in lands.)

Yeah, it's just a display glitch. If Dryad Arbor is in a deck it will appear in the lists of both Lands and Creatures.
