How exactly does Enduring Renewal work?

Asked by d34thm0nk3y 10 years ago

When I draw a card and it is a creature, it is sent to the graveyard. Does this creature card then get sent to my hand or does it stay in the graveyard?

Enduring Renewal

It goes to your graveyard and stays there.

"from play" means from the battlefield. Enduring Renewal puts the card into the graveyard from your library, not the battlefield..

The "in play" zone is an old name for the "battlefield" zone. Enduring Renewal only puts the creature into your hand if it went to the graveyard from the battlefield. The card you put into the graveyard instead of drawing came from your library, not the battlefield. It doesn't go to your hand.

Check the current Oracle text of older cards to see the most up-to-date text. There have been upgrades to the rules over the years that have cleaned up some of the confusing things about rules text from past sets.
