when casting Entreat the Angels how does the xx mana work?

During casting, you declare a value for X, then pay it twice (or just once for the Miracle cost).

Example: cast Entreat the AngelsMTG Card: Entreat the Angels, declaring X to be 4, you will pay 8, W, W, W to cast the spell. Miracle casting with X=4 is 4, W, W.

Basically, once you decide how many Angels you want from Entreat the AngelsMTG Card: Entreat the Angels, you have to pay twice that much generic mana and WWW to get them. All the choices for a spell or ability - including targets, modes, the value of variables like X, etc. - are made before costs are calculated, because often these choices can affect how much it costs. If you want 3 Angels, that means X is 3, and the spell will cost 3 + 3 + WWW = 9 total.
