How does Ajani's Chosen work?
Asked by woll3Y 11 years ago
I'm confused about the wording of Ajani's Chosen . It says you bring the cat token in and then you may attach the enchantment aura to the token. Does that mean you make a copy of the enchantment, or simply redirect the cast from the original creature to the token?

Creating the token is not optional. You must create the token. The may option is attaching the enchantment to the token if the enchantment is an aura. If you choose to attach the aura to the token, it becomes unattached from its original object and moves over to the token.
The enchantment has to have already resolved and entered the battlefield for Ajani's Chosen 's ability to trigger. If the enchantment is an aura, that means it's already enchanting the targeted object by the time Ajani's Chosen 's ability triggers. Therefore, the ability doesn't redirect anything. It also doesn't copy anything because it doesn't say to copy anything.
