I was browsing and came across horsemanship. what is it?

it was only in Portal: Three Kingdoms. The set was based around Romance of the Three Kingdoms and to make it more realistic, they didn't have as many (possibly none) flying creatures. Instead they have lots of people on horses, such as in the story. Therefore Horsemanship was created.
It works just as sporkife said, but the the advantage of not being blocked my Reach.

In short, it's a WICKED AWESOME ABILITY! Sun Quan, Lord of Wu should be in every creature-based EDH that runs blue.

it's basically flying - creatures with horsemanship can't be blocked except by creatures with horsemanship. it was only printed in portal, i believe, and as such is not particularly common.
