Help with Hydra Broodmaster

i'm not familiar with double X costs, how do they work? i want to put Hydra Broodmaster in a deck but don't understand the monstrous ability. could someone give an example of how much mana to pay to get a 5/5 out?

Calculating and paying costs is the last step of casting a spell or activating an ability, and choosing the value of X is one of the first few steps. If you want to get 5 5/5 Hydra tokens from Hydra Broodmaster then you choose X = 5, which makes the total cost to activate the ability 5 + 5 + G = 10G.

ok thank you Rhadamanthus, i wasn't sure if it was something like 5 then 10 for the second X making it 15G, or something else silly like that.
