Guttersnipe and Cipher
Asked by Hadesshade 12 years ago
Looking at both Guttersnipe and the new Cipher mechanic, where you can cast a copy of the encoded spell; Would this cause an infinite loop?
My reasoning says yes, making this just a little broken. Please tell me how I am wrong.

Ah, yes. Amazing how missing out on one word can change the card drastically. Brain probably got diverted the second I read the word "cast." Thanks for that.

Cipher is activated by combat damage, not an unspecified form of damage, so Guttersnipe can only cast the encoded card if he attacks and deals combat damage to a player, but then he will then do 2 damage to each opponent, as the copy is then cast. Generally it's better to lean towards infinite broken combos not existing in standard at least...generally.
