Ghost Quarter Question!

Question regarding Ghost Quarter from the Innistrad set.
My question is: Once you tap the land to get a mana, does it automatically sacrifice itself, or are you able to choose to not use the 2nd ability? Also, could you use both abilities simultaneously?

Note that both of Ghost Quarter 's abilities are activate abilities. Separate activated abilities must be activated individually.
If Ghost Quarter said "Whenever Ghost Quarter becomes tapped, sacrifice it. If you do, destroy target land..." then it would force you to sacrifice it when it is tapped for mana, but the sacrifice ability is activated, not triggered.
You may only activate one activated ability at a time. Once you begin the process of activating an ability, you lose priority until the activation process is complete (all targets chosen, all costs paid, etc.). Afterward, the active player regains priority.
If you tap Ghost Quarter for mana, you must untap it before you may tap it for another ability. If you activate Ghost Quarter's second ability, you may not activate its first ability because you are forced to sacrifice it as part of the payment for the second ability.

No you can't use Ghost Quarter to get both abilities, you have to choose to tap it for mana or to tap and sac it to destroy a land. It would be like trying to sac a creature to pay 2 different costs at once.
Here are some oracle rulings from the Gatherer site, though they don't necessarily fir into this particular question :
The target land's controller gets to search for a basic land card even if that land wasn't destroyed by Ghost Quarter's ability. This may happen because the land is indestructible or because it was regenerated. If you target Ghost Quarter with its own ability, the ability will be countered because its target is no longer on the battlefield. You won't get to search for a land card. If the targeted land is an illegal target by the time Ghost Quarter's ability resolves, it will be countered and none of its effects will happen. The land's controller won't get to search for a basic land card.
