ETB on your upkeep

theres some fungus thing from alara (someone will find it) with devour 2 and "pit a 1/1 saproling into play at the begin ning of your upkeep for each +1/+1 counter on this card.
do they suffer summoning sickness since they have been under my control since my last upkeep?
It has summoning sickness since you didn't control the creature "since the start of you're most recent turn."
212.3f A creatures activated ability with the tap symbol in its activation cost cant be played unless the creature has been under its controllers control since the start of his or her most recent turn. A creature cant attack unless it has been under its controllers control since the start of his or her most recent turn. This rule is informally called the summoning sickness rule. Ignore this rule for creatures with haste (see rule 502.5).

To clarify since the tokens get put into play during your upkeep they have not been under your control since the start of your turn, so they have summoning sickness.

i believe the card to which you are referring is called Mycoloth a wonderful favorite of mine when i ran tokens. When the tokens come into play at the beginning of your upkeep, they cannot attack since they were not in play at the beginning of that turn. but they can however attack on your following turn.

any time a creature is put into play and doesn't have haste, it has summoning sickness. regardless if its put there from your hand, graveyard, exile or effect of another card.
