Double Strike & triggered combat abilities

If Daxos of Meletis had double strike via a bestowed Ghostblade Eidolon , does his ability trigger twice allowing that player to exile 2 cards from the defending player if he was unblocked?

Yes. Creatures with double strike deal combat damage twice - once in each of two combat damage steps. On-damage abilities trigger both times.
