Dose Sterling Grove's ability Protect other enchantments from being counter spelled also? Or dose it only protect them once they are on the battlefield?

I want to protect Fastbond since it is restricted and i can only have one in my deck.

Shroud only functions while the source object is a permanent (i.e. while it is on the battlefield). Additionally, an effect that references a permanent type without using the word card refers only to permanents of that type. Therefore, Sterling Grove doesn't even give your other enchantments shroud unless they are enchantment permanents. Enchantment spells get nothing.

It does not protect your enchantments from being countered, only when they are on the battlefield are they protected. When an enchantment is cast it is just a spell and not subject to Sterling Grove 's as it is not yet an enchantment until it resolves. During when it is resolving is when it is subject to being countered

Epochalyptik I dont understand what you mean (Sterling Grove doesn't even give your other enchantments shroud unless they are enchantment permanents.) If an enchantment is on the battlefield and something states target permanent It can be targeted. I just dont understand your statement. Maybe some clarity?

Husky i get what you are saying.

Reread the sentence immediately before that one: an effect that references a permanent type without using the word card refers only to permanents of that type.

A card on the battlefield is a permanent, just like a card on the stack is a spell. Permanents only exist on the battlefield; spells only exist on the stack. Because Sterling Grove says "Other enchantments you control have shroud," Sterling Grove 's ability gives shroud to your enchantment permanents, but not to your enchantments in other zones.

Also, please don't ask the entire question in the title. It's much easier to read a shorter title.
