Does casting Hour of Need for its Strive cost, 5 mana or more into it essentially, mean that it can now me subject to a counter from Disdainful Stroke?

I cast an Hour of Need w/ Strive two exile two of my mana dorks against Jeskai, providing me w/ two 4/4 flying blockers-unless opponent can Disdainful Stroke it? Working on SB strategies against Jeskai Tempo, it is my only bad matchup

Always check the Gatherer rulings before asking a question.

4/26/2014: The mana cost and converted mana cost of strive spells dont change no matter how many targets they have. Strive abilities affect only what you pay.

CMC is always derived from the symbols printed in the upper right corner of the card.
