Does a "end of turn" creature copy revert back to itself when it hits the grave?

Say my Scion of the Ur-Dragon becomes something else and then dies. Does it immediately revert to its original form or only at end of turn?

Whenever an object changes zones, it reverts to its default characteristics. Scion will die as whatever it copied, but it will become Scion of the Ur-Dragon again when it hits the yard.
