Do creatures with flash count as instant spells?

Could a creature with flash be countered with Muddle the Mixture ? I'm pretty sure the answer is no but I'm hoping it's yes.

you are correct that a creature spell with flash is not an instant spell. A creature having flash doesn't change the type of card it is, it only changes the rules that define when you are allowed to cast it.
