Do Conspire abilities trigger Heroic?

Asked by Seany.blaize 11 years ago

Do the creatures targeted with the 'Tap for copy' ability for conspire count as targeted for Heroic? For Example - Could Barkshell Blessing add four heroic tokens (one each for the ability and the copy as well as the two tapped creatures)?

No, using conspire doesn't mean the spell is targetting the creatures you tap. Barkshell has a single target, the target that is going to get +2/+2 until end of turn, that is all.

There's some understandable confusion here.

That said, the two creatures you tap to conspire aren't being targeted by anything. But you DO have two targets here. The creature you target with Barkshell Blessing and the creature you target with the copy of Barkshell Blessing

But since the copy is created on the stack, you aren't playing the new spell. The copy is created on the stack, and you can change the target.

So you could cast it targeting Akroan Crusader , and conspire to copy it and target the crusader again, but you'd only get 1 heroic trigger because the copy wasn't cast, it was created on the stack and targeted from there.

Ha! I was so tired I was answering as if conspire was convoke. I should get to bed sooner.
