Do Clara Oswald triggers 1 additional time the demonstrate of The Twelfth Doctor?

Asked by pedroedmarcos 1 year ago

Hey there,

So, I just saw the Professor Gameplay on his channel, and Gavin said that Clara only double triggers the second part of the Doctor effect. But since the first spell gains demonstrate, which is an triggered ability, does it or does it not double the trigger for the demonstrate effect of the first spell?

(I don't know why the card of the The Twelfth Doctor isn't showing up)

The Twelfth Doctor has a static ability that grants a triggered ability to certain spells you cast. It does not have demonstrate itself, so Clara Oswald would not double the demonstrate ability.

If both The Twelfth Doctor and Clara Oswald are on the battlefield and you cast another Doctor spell, would Clara's ability trigger for that second Doctor

Clara doubles every Doctor's triggered ability, so as long as the new Doctor has a triggered ability, Clara will double it when it triggers.

I might be misinterpreting your second question. If both Clara and 12th are in play, and you cast another Doctor from somewhere other than your hand as your first spell for the turn, you have the option to demonstrate it. If you do, you would put two +1/+1 counters on 12th.

I'm asking specifically for the Demonstrate triggered ability granted by the Twelfth Doctor to a second Doctor, since any 'the Doctor' would be 'the Doctor' in every zone and you control spells you cast.
