Devotion in multicoloured gods

so Mogis, God of Slaughter says red 'and' black devotion does that mean I need a devotion of 7 black and a devotion of 7 red?

No, just a combined devotion to both red and black of 7. Basically count the number of R and B mana symbols in the permanents you control and that's your devotion to red and black. Remember though to only count each mana symbol once, so Rakdos Shred-Freak will only add 2 to your devotion to red and black.
