Deflecting palm
Asked by TheBoss69 10 years ago
Ok so deflecting palm says the next time a source of my choice deals damage I can deflect it back. So if say someone plays lightning strike and I play deflecting palm it does 3 to them instead? Or say someone attacked with a creature and I play it it deals the damage to them instead? I'm jus trying to see if I understand this card correctly cuz of the way it's worded.

Please link all cards in your question so we can reference them. Providing partial summaries or quotes of their text is often not enough.

Yes. That's what Deflecting Palm does. For a spell or ability that you want to deflect, you just play Deflecting Palm in response, before that spell/ability resolves. For a creature that's attacking you, you have to play Deflecting Palm before the combat damage step starts (meaning you have until the end of the declare blockers step).
The reason it's written that way is because that's the way it has to be written to be consistent with the rules of the game.
