Dash and the Command Zone

Asked by kungfuturtle 10 years ago

How will Dash mechanic work with the Command Zone? Will it essentially be a way to cheat around the casting tax?

"A commander costs more to cast for each time it has previously been cast from the command zone."

Dash is an alternate cost. Casting a card such as Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury for its Dash cost is still casting it, thus you would pay the commander tax.

Note that Kolaghan would be returned to your hand at the end of turn, and you do not have to pay commander tax when you cast it from your hand.
