Damage assignment with "All must block" creatures.

Does Treeshaker Chimera deal it's 8 damage to all the creatures blocking it, or does it only deal up to 8? If I were to enchant or mutate it with deathtouch, would all the creatures blocking it die?

When a creature is blocked by multiple creatures, it's control determines a "damage assignment order." The blocked creature must deal lethal damage to the first creature in that order to deal damage to the next one and so on.

In the case of your Treeshaker Chimera, that means all 8 of it's damage will be dealt in an order that you see fit. Also, if your opponent blocks with something that you don't want to die (say, they temporarily stole your creature) you don't have to deal damage to it. You could just deal all 8 damage to the first creature, and call it good. It's is legal to deal extra damage to a blocker.

As for the deathtouch part, a single damage from a creature with deathtouch is lethal damage, so the Chimera would kill the first 8 things blocking it.

Hope this helps!!
