Creeping Tar-pit Q's

When activating it's ability to turn into a creature and attack with, after attacking resolves does the tar-pit turn back into an untapped land?

Also, when I am defending and Tar-pit is tapped, can I activate it's ability to bring it out as a creature to defend with?

The ability does nothing to tap or untap Creeping Tar Pit. If you activate it and then tap it to attack, it stays tapped until your next untap step or something else untaps it.

When you're defending, if Creeping Tar Pit is tapped, activating it's ability will make it a creature, but it stays tapped and as such will not be able to block.
