Creatures entering tapped

If i have an Imposing Sovereign on the field, and an opponent has Quest for Renewal out, if he plays a creature, will it activate Quest for Renewal?

Always check Gatherer just in case it might answer your question.

"3/1/2010 Creatures put onto the battlefield tapped don't cause Quest for Renewal's first ability to trigger."

To be more specific: "becomes N" means "first it wasn't N, then it was". There's no point in this example when the creature was untapped, so it didn't "become tapped".
