Copying Urza's Incubator triggered ability

Asked by SharuumNyan 11 years ago

If I play an Urza's Incubator and use Strionic Resonator 's activated ability to copy it's triggered ability (When Urza's Incubator comes into play, choose a creature type), will it allow me to choose a second creature type? If it does, can I then pay (2) less for each of the two creature types?

For example, when Urza's Incubator comes into play I copy the triggered ability with Strionic Resonator . I name Eldrazi and Humans. Does that allow me to pay (2) less for both of those creature types while Urza's Incubator is in play?

If I named Birds and Wizards, could I pay (4) less for a bird wizard?

I'm not one hundred percent sold. But yes I believe this will work. One the wizard's page for Strionic Resonator they talk about Exclusion Ritual and from my understanding I think you could also do a similar thing for this case.

The answer is no. Urza's Incubator has the following Oracle text:

As Urza's Incubator enters the battlefield, choose a creature type.

Creature spells of the chosen type cost 2 less to cast.

Because the wording means the abilities are static, not triggered, neither can be copied with Strionic Resonator .
