Copying a card with imprint
Asked by halander1 8 years ago
So, say I have a Panoptic Mirror, and I imprint a spell onto Panoptic Mirror, and then I use Copy Artifact on the imprinted Panoptic Mirror. Does the new Panoptic Mirror have the imprinted spell?
Copy Artifact enters the battlefield as a copy of Panoptic Mirror.
It has no link to whatever spell the first Panoptic Mirror exiled, but it does have it's own Imprint ability.
If you activate the copy's ability, then you will have the option to exile an instant or sorcery from your hand, and that sorcery will be linked to your copy of Panoptic Mirror, and will be cast every upkeep.

to be more precise, the text of the card is what is gonna be copied

@Ghosty: That's actually less precise - a copy effect copies all copyable values, which is pretty much everything on the unmodified printed card (except for permanents that are themselves copies of something). It's not just the text parts, but also mana cost or color, for example.

Only Panoptic Mirror would be copied, not any imprints it has associated to it.
