Clockwork Drawbridge/Foul Play interaction

I was playing arena and had Clockwork Drawbridge 0/3 untapped on my battlefield. They played Foul Play sorcery card "destroy target creature with 2 power or less". As far as I know creature abilities can activate any time an instant can, but the game wouldn't let me activate it's ability "2Wtap, tap target creature" even though I had plenty of mana causing me to lose the game that turn. I should have been able to activate it's ability before it was destroyed right?

You can link cards by enclosing them in double brackets:

Did your Drawbridge have summoning sickness? Because the only reason for it to not let you activate the ability while you had three mana including at least one white is if the creature had summoning sickness.
