Cast Through Time and rebound?

Asked by timschil 8 years ago

If I have a Cast Through Time on the board and it has rebounded a card, for example Void Snare, and my opponent removes the cast through time from the battlefield. Does the void snare still have the rebound or would it stay in exile? We were confused with the wording of "have" on the card

Rebound is an ability that functions as a spell resolves. If a resolving spell has rebound, then you exile it as it resolves. The rebound ability creates a delayed triggered ability that triggers at the beginning of your next upkeep. When the DTA resolves, you have the choice of casting the spell from exile without paying its mana cost.

The DTA is created when the spell resolves after being cast from your hand. Removing Cast Through Time after Void Snare resolves won't do anything.

Note also that Cast Through Time's text says "instant or sorcery spells you control have . . .," indicating that rebound is only relevant for your instants and sorceries while they're spells (that is, while they're on the stack) and not while they're in exile.
