Case of the Gateway Express and Taii wakeen

Asked by JoeySucks 3 weeks ago

If I control Taii wakeen, one other creature, and play Case of the Gateway Express, and I tap taii wakeen to activate her active ability and pay 1 mana, now all of my noncombat damage until end of turn is increased by 1.

If I target my opponents 2/2 creature with the damage ability of Case of the Gateway Express, do each of my creatures deal 2 damage to that 2/2 opposing creature, or do my creatures deal 1 damage each and then Taii wakeen's ability increases it by 1 damage for a total of 3?

Does the game see the opposing creature take 2 damage twice and I draw 2 cards? Or does the game see the opposing creature take 4 damage and I draw zero cards?

You can use double square brackets around a card's name to create a reference link. It's the best way to help make sure everyone understands what's going on: Case of the Gateway Express, Taii Wakeen, Perfect Shot

You get two cards. Each of your creatures is a separate source of damage in this example, so Taii will affect each of them individually and will trigger for each of them since they're both dealing the right amount of damage.

Since there don't seem to be any follow-ups or corrections that need to be made, I marked it as the "Accepted answer" so this topic can move out of the list of unanswered questions. In the future you can take care of this yourself using the "Mark as Answer" button on the response that you feel is the most helpful answer to your question.

I try to avoid marking my own responses when I do this, but in this case it was the only option.
