Can you reequip an equipment to the same creature?

Let's say there's a theoretical equipment that says "Whenever ~ becomes attached to a creature, do X". Could its controller continually equip it to the same creature for the effect, or would they have to switch back and forth between two creatures to get the trigger?

Which is to say, they can only move it from creature to creature.

"Become X" means "go from Not X to X". To make such an ability trigger, you would have to move the equipment from creature to creature. You're allowed to target the already equipped creature with the equip ability (this is why Shuko + Cephalid Illusionist is a combo), but the creature won't "become equipped" again.

You need a legal target when you use Equip. You can't just "unequip" Equipment unless you have a spell or effect that says you can. So unless you have something that does, no.
