Can you choose to sacrifice a creature that you have an aura on?

I know that Quickling can return a creature that you have an aura on, such as Cast into Darkness , to that creature's controller's hand. Could this same ruling also apply to sacrifices? For example, with Eater of Hope 's regeneration cost, if you have Cast into Darkness on one of your opponent's creatures, could you sacrifice that creature as part of the activation cost?

No, you cannot sacrifice creatures you don't control. The first scenario with Quickling doesn't work either, as even though you enchanted Cast into Darkness on the opposing creature, they still control it.

Cast into Darkness only modifies attributes on creatures, and doesn't change their controller. You would have to return your own creature with Quickling and sacrifice your own creature with Eater of Hope .
