Can infect counters go below zero or over 10?

Asked by ntwiles 14 years ago

I'm developing an Android application for life total/poison counters. Life totals of course can go into the negatives and be over 20, but poison counters I'm unsure of.

Can infect counters go below zero or over 10? I would assume that they can not go below zero. That would be illogical. Over 10 I'm not so sure of. Of course cards like Platinum Angel can keep you alive at 10 counters, but as far as I'm aware there's no way to remove poison counters from a player, so it seems to me that tallying counters after you hit 10 is pointless.

Any help on either questions would be greatly appreciated.

Counters can't be negative, but poison counters CAN be above 10. There are ways to remove them, like Leeches .

I wonder if they will reprint that card in this next set? I bet if it were to be reprinted it would be a rare.

@KrazyCaley: You mean there is A (singular) way to remove poison counters. SPOILER ALERT I guess new Karn's last ability would do the trick too, if they keep the "restart the game" wording.

i think you forgot about Leeches

also in 2HG they changed the rules so that it takees 15 counters to kill the team.

true, Leeches can remove poison but since its a sorcery (same with Karn's ability speed), any player with 10 poison counters would lose before either of these could be played.

unless you had something that gave it Flash.
