Can I use a multi-coloured aura on Naya Hushblade.
Asked by KingSorin 11 years ago
If Naya Hushblade is my only multi-coloured permanent on the field, can I equip it with Shield of the Oversoul , and will it unattach like protection if I do so, since right after equipping Naya Hushblade she acquires shroud? I think so, since she only gets shroud after the aura has already attached, and I don't think shroud unattaches like protection, but some clarification would be nice.
Thought so, but i was just confirming before I made a selesnya aggro that used both of them

but aren't enchantments spells? something with shroud cannot be the target of spells or abilities.... so enchantments cannot effect it.... same with hexproof.
or am i wrong?

Notice that Naya Hushblade doesn't get shroud until you control another multicolored permanent.

First, you enchant it, not equip it. That's a technicality, though.
Auras target only as spells. When Shield of the Oversoul is on the stack, you still only control one multicolored permanent. When Shield of the Oversoul resolves, it is no longer targeting anything. Because shroud doesn't prevent auras from becoming attached to anything, Naya Hushblade will become enchanted.
