Can I respond to a spell with two Judge's Familiar?
Asked by MaliciousMac 11 years ago
For examples sake:
My opponent casts Azorius Charm and has one mana left open. I respond with one of my two Judge's Familiar on the field, and he taps the mana cost for the Familiar. Can I respond to the same Azorius Charm by sacrificing my other Judge's Familiar so that his Charm gets countered?
You sure can.
When you sacrifice the Judge's Familiar, its ability goes onto the stack above the Charm. When they pay the cost, and that ability resolves, there needs to be another pass of priority before the charm would resolve, in which time you get priority to sacrifice another Familiar.

Yes, as long a spell remains on the stack, you can target it with as many counterspell effects as you wish.

Yes. There's always a round of priority before any object on the stack tries to resolve. After the first Judge's Familiar tries to counter the Charm and you have priority again, you can activate your other Judge's Familiar .
