Can I respond to a miracle trigger by putting that card on top of the deck?
Asked by tjarvis91 10 years ago
If I drew a miracle card with Melek, Izzet Paragon out, and revealed the card for it's miracle trigger, and responded to the miracle trigger by putting the card on top of my deck with Scroll Rack or something, would I then be able to cast the card doubled for it's miracle cost?
From what I understand, the miracle trigger happens, and THEN allows me to cast it if it was the first card drawn, so they should be separate instances. The miracle trigger can be responded to, I can Scroll Rack it to the top of my deck face-up, and then if it resolves, I can immediately cast the card for it's miracle cost. It would then be cast from my library, so it's not changing zones, but it was still the first card drawn this turn.
I couldn't find any questions specific to responding to the miracle trigger by putting the card on top of the deck, so any help would be great! Thanks!

Please link your cards, there's a formatting guide at the bottom.
Melek, Izzet Paragon Scroll Rack.
No, this doesn't work. Here are the rules for Miracle:
You cast the revealed Miracle card on the resolution of the triggered ability. If you put the card back into your library before that ability resolves, it becomes a new object because it changed zones. It is no longer the same object the Miracle ability allows you to cast.
