Can I cast bioshift if I have only one creature on the field under my control?

Asked by randomthing 11 years ago

I have a Centaur Battlemaster and I'd like to activate his Heroic ability at instant speed to avoid him from being shocked to death. Can I cast Bioshift on him (even though he is the only creature under my control) at instant speed to prevent him form dying?

Please link all cards in question.
Centaur Battlemaster
Bioshift

This will not work. Bioshift has two targets, both of which must be controlled by a single player, so you cannot even cast it if you control only one creature.

It is worth noting that you could cast Bioshift on Centaur Battlemaster even if it had no counters on it before Heroic triggered.

Edit: you cannot cast it on your creature if you control only one creature. You could still Bioshift creatures another player controls.
