Bow of Nylea +1/+1 counter ability.

Let's say I block a 6/6 wurm token with a Twisted Abomination (5/3) with a +1/+1 counter, normaly I would kill the wurm, but after the declaration of blockers step my oponent's used the flip ability of Bow of Nylea and made a 7/7 wurm. He could do that or I was made a fool?

Please use double [ and ] brackets around card names to link them like you can see below.
Bow of Nylea
One of the key things you need to understand to play MTG successfully, is how combat works. Combat phase is divided into 5 steps: Beginning of Combat, Declare Attackers, Declare Blockers, Combat Damage and End of Combat (if a creature with first strike is engaging in combat, extra First Strike Combat Damage step is added before the regular Combat Damage step). In each of those steps, after turn based actions are taken (like declaring attackers or blockers, assigning the order of blockers when there are multiple creatures blocking a single attacker), players get priority to activate abilities and cast spells. It was perfectly legal of your opponent to wait until you block and then utilize his priority to activate the bow.
Short version: You were not made a fool, the play was correct.
