Bloodrush?
Asked by airjogden 12 years ago
Can my creature with bloodrush (just say a Slaughterhorn) be on the battlefield when I use it to bloodrush onto another creature?
Or does Slaughterhorn it have to be in my hand when I use it bloodrush
Also can I use Pit Fight and then bloodrush onto my creature which is fighting an opponents creature?
Thanks yeah I thought the card would probably say Discard or Sacrifice, if I could play it from on the battlefield. As for pit fight I wasnt to sure.

Actually, if your creature happens to be attacting at the moment you use Pit Fight, then you can use bloodrush to pump it. You can for example attack, wait for blockers being declared, see what the situation looks like and then bloodrush and Pit Fight accordingly.

Another option would be to bloodrush during the combat phase, then Pit Fight in the second main phase, as the bloodrush pump lasts until EOT

Awesome, yeah that's great. When using Pit Fight it doesn't cause your creature to tap? or it wouldn't matter if the creature was all ready tapped, it still works as normal?

Correct. It literally just makes each creature deal damage equal to its power to the other creature, no more, no less.

I just realized I have another question haha, when using Pit Fight do creatures get their abilities such trample, deathtouch, lifelink, first strike... etc. Or do they keep +1/+1 counters?

Fighting means the creatures in question deal noncombat damage to one another. Abilities that affect noncombat damage (e.g. deathtouch, lifelink, wither, infect) will affect fight damage. Abilities that only affect combat damage (e.g. trample, first strike, double strike) will not affect fight damage.
Counters affect a creature's power and/or toughness, so they're taken into account during fighting.

You can't discard a card that isn't in your hand. Therefore, bloodrush may only be activated if the source card is in your hand.
Fighting is not the same as attacking. You can't activate bloodrush targeting a creature that isn't attacking.
