Black cat and control switch?

Say I give my opponent my Black Cat with Daring Thief , and he later blocks and lets it die. Who discards the card?

You discard the card (assuming two players here). Your opponent is the controller of Black Cat , so its text box is speaking to him. "target opponent discards a card at random" is from the context of its current controller. Cards always assume this unless they state otherwise.

Your opponent will be able to choose the target of Black Cat 's ability because he controlled Black Cat when it died.
