Bad River in edh deck

Asked by abenz419 11 years ago

Can you put a card like Bad River that lets you search for a swamp or island if the color identity of your deck is B/G

Yes. Basic land types only matter if they're in the card's type line. Basic land types and color words in a card's text box mean nothing as far as color identity is concerned. Bad River has a colorless identity.

ok I thought the colors in the cards rules box affected it's identity and I wasn't sure if naming a basic land type was the same as naming a color.

Colored mana symbols, not color words, affect color identity.
