Are Hybrid Cards Considered Multi-Colored?

Asked by Esper_Silence 11 years ago

Since a card like Boros Reckoner works on your choice of either red or white devotion, wouldn't it also mean that it's multi-colored, & Soldier of the Pantheon wouldn't take lethal damage?

Trying to make sure I get all scenarios in-tact for the Grand Prix in 2 1/2 weeks. Thanks for the help!

Yes, it is multi-colored, so Soldier of the Pantheon is safe from it. Also, it counts for both devotions, regardless of what you spend on it. You could spend WWW and it still gives 3 to your devotion to Red. Makes it great for upping devotion count in decks with the Gods.

You are correct that it will not take lethal damage, however it will not take any damage AT ALL from multicolored.

Protection from multicolored means the following:

  • Cannot be targeted by multicolored spells/abilities

  • Cannot be blocked by multicolored creatures

  • Cannot be damaged by multicolored spells/abilities, creatures (you can still block a multicolored creature with Soldier of the Pantheon and it won't have any damage dealt to it)

  • Cannot be enchanted by multicolored auras
