Ally Encampment Question

So lets say someone uses a removal spell on one of my Ally Creatures (lets just use Ruinous Path for example). Can I sacrifice Ally Encampment and return my Ally Creature to my hand before it is destroyed?

Yes you can, spells and activated abilities use the stack and can generally be responded to.
So your opponent casts Ruinous Path targeting your Akoum Flameseeker, before Ruinous Path can resolve you respond by activating Ally Encampments ability targeting your Akoum Flameseeker, then the stack resolves in reverse order, so your ability would resolve first, returning your Akoum Flameseeker to your hand and then your opponents spell would be countered for having no legal targets upon resolution.
