Assistance Wanted! Database Debt to Complete

TappedOut forum

There are various database debts across the site to complete, some of them are long since overdue to be done, and some of them are results of new systems put in place. I will list these debts in order from most important to least important, how to help and what must be done.

Mystery Booster

This is the biggest and most urgent at the moment, since it encapsules a total of nearly 3,400 cards.

I have all the images for MYSCON and MYSTOR here in a dropbox. It doesn't include the playtest cards or the MYSTOR foil only cards. I've never gotten around to adding them as I thought it could be automated in some way, turns out it can't and I'd rather not spend two months straight adding these by myself.

Only upgraded users can help with this unfortunately, to help, click the "Cards" button on the site header (or dropdown if you are on mobile), go to the Mystery Booster: Convention Edition set, and click the green Add/Fix card button. Type in the name of the card and you'll be able to add the printing to the set, and upload the image I have provided in the dropbox.

HOWEVER. I want to try and mimic the drafting environment as much as possible with our draft sim, using the limitations we have. I will be assuming that yeaGO will add the basic land slot back into the draft sim, since many draft formats now use that specifically for fixing and what not.

Mystery Booster's actual draft environment is 1 slot playtest/foil only card, 1 slot M15 Rare, 1 slot Pre-M15 rare, 1 slot uncommon artifact/land, 1 slot uncommon multicoloured card and then 2 slots of commons/uncommons for each colour.

To try and replicate Mystery Booster drafting experience, follow these rarity guidelines:

  1. Label the playtest cards (or foil only cards) as rare.
  2. Label the uncommon artifacts/lands as basic lands.
  3. Label the M15 and Pre-M15 rares as uncommon
  4. Also label the uncommon multicoloured cards as uncommon
  5. Label everything else as common (this should be all the remaining mono-coloured commons and uncommons).

Here are the reasons I think this works for our system: Show

Promos, Basic Lands and other Missing Alt Artworks

Anyone can work on these provided they have the images for them. Remember to use large non-scryfall images (400 pixels in width classifies as being large), and to crop out the black border. Full description of how to utilize the variation system for uploading promos, basic lands and other missing artworks can be found here.

Magic Online Promos

If anyone wants to start uploading all the magic online promos to the set TLA "MOP" feel free to do so. Pretty sure you can just go to the following location in your disk drive "C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Local\Wizards of the Coast\Magic Online\Images\ArtInFrame\Tier1" to find all the promo images.

Arena Animations, Alt Arts and Chinese Censored Alt Arts

This one is the least important, but somewhat also the most difficult to do. The animations in particular that is. I'd need someone to upload a recording of at least one full loop of any animation that isn't presently in the system, and those would be everything that was created after March of 2019.

Every Animation Presently in the Database Show

Note that you actually have to have these animated styles to get proper recordings of them. If you don't have them there's no text upon the pop-op animation that plays in Arena. I have no interest in playing Arena, I really don't like the grind it has, so hoping someone else still has the animations released since then themselves.

Anything that isn't animated is much easier to deal with, just take a screenshot of them with the pop-up in as large of resolution as you can get. These include arena exclusives and any arena promos.

Secret Lair Stained Glass Planeswalkers

I am done the stained glass walkers for Secret Lair. However if you think you can find or have a better image for any of the walkers than what tappedout currently has, (that isn't scryfall) please post the image here.

I request that the photos of these be taken without their wrappers on (or at least without the glue on them), no overexposed parts (easy to do, put a thin piece of paper in front of your light source), no shadows, and no fingers in the way.

I will be keeping this list updated as much as I possibly can, adding new stuff that I can't fully do myself as I find them. If you do decide to help, your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: I have images for all of the stained glass walkers, but I still request good quality images for some of them. Here's what I am looking for:

  • Jace
  • Jiang Yanggu
  • Kasmina
  • Kiora
  • Nahiri
  • Ob Nixilis
  • Sorin
  • Tibalt
  • Vraska

I also put in instructions for upgraded users on where to go to add mystery booster cards, simply go to the set page and click the green add/fix button.

I'm almost done the secret lair stained glass walker stuff, ended up crawling through picclick's ebay/amazon postings for photographs. I don't particularly want to do mystery booster all by myself though. That would take literally 3 months straight, and there's a lot of other things I need to do around the site. I have all the images for mystery booster convention edition and all the nonfoils for mystery booster store edition in the dropbox in the opening post, so all people need to do is to follow the rarity guidelines I posted and it should be easy to populate.

I'll make this a sticky to hopefully get more attention to this.

Secret Lair stained glass walker stuff are all done, but if anyone can find better photographs for any of these, do post them here.

Thanks to devs of tappedout, the Mystery Booster products will have everything in them within the next few days (the set list will take a while to populate). Automation is a wonderful friend!

Live draft simulation will not be possible for these for a while however.
