I just remembered why I stopped playing arena

In my first game in a few months on arena I disconnected twice and missed my turn 3. This is half the reason I stopped playing arena wizards.

I was having this same problem playing via my laptop. Went into my settings and turned off the setting for my network adapter that allowed Wifi to be turned off for power saving. Made a world of difference

That is very frustrating. I have had issues with connection during drafts and I emailed them with success of getting my 5,000 coins back. I had issues yesterday with a pre-release event, but have not heard back if they are going to give me my 2,000 gems back. So if you problems happened during an event I would email them.

The client did have problems connecting on release day. However, this is true for any online platform on "big days" where a large influx of playes happen.

It has always happened to me weather it is release day or not, and my laptop is plugged in and set to maximum performance at all times.

The disconnects are not related to the laptop's performance, but the internet connection and other server issues. Given that you have a laptop, try playing from a different location to see if it makes a difference and ensure internet connection is not throttled in some way, like FSims81 mentioned for example.

Finally, arena is not optimized well - regardless of your laptop's performance, you will get issues and general slowdowns, because the game optimization sucks, although it has been better lately. I finished playing hours of Jedi: Fallen Order on very high settings only to get sputtering and slowdowns on Arena later on. Game optimization issues are worse when a lot of new content, like a new set is added to the game.

Just finished my first arena game of the day. My opponent conceded at the end and the game decided that it didn't want to take me back to the main screen. I just sat there and waited for a few minutes as nothing happened (the game wasn't frozen, I could still click on stuff) eventually I gave up and now I'm going to play some hearthstone with my new infinite patches rouge.
