Tapping Lands?!

I recently found out, that I'm tapping my cards the "wrong" way. A tap symbol is tapping to the rigth side. But i'm tapping to the left side!
When I tap a card in the playtester on this side, the cards are also tapping to the right side.
Am I the only one who is tapping cards to the left side?
You aren't alone in this. I'm right-handed, so it feels easier. Pretty sure there is no official rule detailing the direction you're required to rotate a card when it becomes tapped.

There's no wrong way to do it. I find most people (including myself) tap to the right.

How do you guys tap? I actually pick up my cards and put them down rotated, so they don't scuff the sleeves.

I saw one person tap to the left in a tournament about a month ago, and I realized just then that in playing Magic since 1994, I'd never seen that before. It's obviously not wrong, but at least in my experience it's very unusual.
I do the same thing, Krayhaft, though it's not out of concern for my sleeves (which I rather obsessively replace often anyway). It's more because I tend to play too fast if I don't watch myself and doing it in a more deliberate way that way reminds me to slow down.

I usually slide since playmats make that pretty easy without worrying too much about scuffing your sleeves up.

i just tilt them 45 degrees to my left... full 90 takes up a lot of space... even stacking lands.... that and its a style preference... everyone i play never says anything against it.

I am right handed and I tap to the left usually. That's a very interesting question by the way.

I am ambidextrous but I tap my lands to the left and any other cards with abilities to the right. Not as a strict rule just something I do naturally I guess. I can see how being right or left handed would make a difference though.

I always kindly ask the card which way it desires to be tapped and act upon its wishes.

Along the same lines:
How do other people organize their lands? I find myself stacking colors together in 3s, but most competitive people I see stack all their lands in a single line.

I stack them in the order I land them. But over the course of the game I periodically reorganize them according to what I'm casting.

I always tap everything to the right, but I've seen some people tapping to the left. It's not that it bothers me a whole lot, but it just touches something in my head, that something regarding keeping things all orderly. Same with people who put their lands in front of creatures... :P
And I stack them in twos, always according to colour. If I'm casting a spell, though, I'll re-stack the lands for each spell, most of the time, and then reorganize them in stacks of two when untapping.

The only thing that bothers me is that one of my friends refuses to tap anything because he doesn't "want to bother with tapping and untapping every turn". So we always get on him about it every time.

I see people tap to left in the pro tour, I'm pretty sure Guillaume Wafo-Tapa taps his lands to the left...and acbooster tell your friend to play the game right or don't play at all

I always tap to the right, but a couple people I know tap to the left.
I do ask everyone to fully tap their permanents 90 degrees either way because partial taps can be difficult to differentiate properly on a crowded board.
As for the lands, I usually ramp like mad in EDH, and the bottom of my playmat is quickly covered by a river of lands. I normally pull the lands out and place them tapped above the river.

I try to keep my lands organized. Put every time I cast a spell, my lands gets messed up...
I just tap my lands. Just turn them to the left. No "Fancy" things by taking them up or something :D

I tap right and organize my lands by color in single stacks. In 2 or more color decks, I keep my lands ordered and spaced based on how the colors are ordered on permanents (in my Wort, the Raidmother
EDH deck all my red lands/creatures I play on the left, green on the right, R/G in the middle above or below Wort). So yes, I'm a bit OCD when it comes to placement of my permanents, but it comes from the friend who taught me to play...
5 color decks tend to be far more tedious, forcing me to play all my dual/tri lands in a single stack, utility lands in another, and my mono lands in another still... Thank god for Chromatic Lantern
haha.

I'm a little OCD when it comes to mana as well, I always organize it dual lands to the far left and then the first color in the middle and the second color on the right (don't play much 3 color or mono color)

I don't pay close enough attention - I probably tap some left and some right - and am often finding myself cramped for space at an overfull table with my untapped lands in one stack and my tapped lands in another stack. If someone cared enough to tell me how it "should be done" then I would try to comply - no biggie.

Generally I tap my all of my permanents to the right, but in combat I will tap my creatures to the left.
