Shocklands in the basic land spot in dragonsmaze?

Just in case anybody hasn't seen it yet here's the link: http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/arcana/1156 So does that mean that the shock land will be my rare for the pack, inserted into the rare slot, and I won't get a land, or will I technically be able to pull 2 rares a pack fairly consistently?

Well the basic land slot will be taken up by non-basics meaning you will get a non basic land plus your rare. They do say it's half as likely to pull a shockland from Dragon's Maze. Someone else broke down the math for me and I think it's something like a 6% chance of pulling a shock. But yeah, you have a chance (very small) to pull 3 rares from Dragon's Maze.

The shockland would replace the normal land slot, so yes you can pull 2 rares with the possibility of 3 rares if one is a foil. I wouldn't say consistantly though. As it states on the linked page you are half as likely to pull a shockland as you are in RTR or GTC. There were 53 rares in each of those sets and if all rares are created equal that means you had about a 10% chance of your rare being a shockland, which in turn means you have about a 5% chance of getting one from Dragon's Maze. Or in other words, about 1 in 20 packs will contain a shockland. That means you are only likely to get 1 or 2 if you are lucky from a box. I would not consider that "fairly consistantly."

More likely the non-basic land is going to be one of the guildgates.

My question is, since these are in the basic land slot, is there still a chance that they could show up as a foil?

...Normally foil basic lands don't even take up the basic land slot, instead, you end up with 2 Basic land...

If so, there's a (very) small chance of getting 2 Shocklands in a single pack.

If not, then is there still going to be a Foil Mythic-Rare land?

The way I understand it, the shocks will only show up in the basic land slot as they won't actually have the dragon's maze symbol on them. As for te mythic land, I'm sure that it will show up as a foil as well. Maybe... I don't know. lol

The odds of getting a shock are probably the ~5% people are talking about, but my guild pack had two in the four dragon's maze packs.

Yea the actual chances of pulling shock lands is pretty low >5% from what I've seen calculated out, you're better off buying RTR/GTC packs for land completions. Your land slot is going to (almost always) a Guildgate, the mythic Maze's End or if you are lucky a Shock. So far from prereleases I've attended no one pulled a shock land anywhere, where as at least 4 Ral Zarek s were pulled....not quite fair/right if you ask me. I'll but DGM for some of the cards, and the maze runners that's it though.
