As the title says, does it? This came up yesterday at FNM. He says no because the token is a new creature, but creatures get -x until end of turn. Is he right?

Each creature gains -X/-X until end of turn, like the card says. So he's right.

But that doesn't really answer your question. You have to think of the -X/-X like an ability. It'd be like if you gave your creatures undying or lifelink until end of turn. Any new creatures don't gain the ability.

Questions like this are best asked in the Q&A.

Mutlitate

"The effect is based on the number of Swamps you control when Mutilate resolves. Only creatures on the battlefield at that time will be affected. The effect won't change later in the turn, even if the number of Swamps you control changes."

So, no the token would not be effected.

the token would survive. To give a simple explaination, think of Mutilate as a pulse that hits all the creatures currently on the battlefield, if a creature enters the battlefield afterwards then it wasn't apart of the mutilation event.

If mutilate's effect said "Until end of turn, creatures get -X/-X where X is the number of swamps you control." it would be a different story.

The writer in me feels compelled to indicate that the token would still be "effected" (although it wouldn't be affected), and it would still be "apart" of the event (although it wouldn't be a part of the event).
