Best sites to purchase a booster box

General forum

I'm looking to buy a box of DGM, but I've only ever bought one box on a whim. What are your favorite sites? I may become a repeat customer, so benefits to returning buyers are nice bonus points.

I'd support your LGS, it's the cheapest way to get a box, as you don't pay shipping, and in most places, tax.

It also keeps your LGS in business so they don't close down.

Other than that, TCGplayer will give you the lowest prices.

Actually my LGS charges roughly $140 for a DGM box, Cobthecobbler. Really they only charge fair prices for boosters and singles. I buy all my larger products from tcgplayer most times.

LGSs aren't all the same, which is both good and bad. The bad side is it means some players get screwed by their shop owners. I happen to have a great LGS just north of me that offers fair prices and discounts for members/regulars. I also have an LGS in my university town that kind of screws players on prices and availability. The in-town one is poorly run and filthy, but the other is clean and friendly.

Unfortunately, I can't really help you about the box question. I don't often buy booster boxes, so you'll just have to shop around.

Usually your local game store would be the best way to support your community (though not always) aside from that Amazon has the best prices (usually under 100$ w/ no tax and no shipping)

Oh I didn't know stores were allowed to just sell boxes. Heh. Hmmm I really wanna be able to order online though, hopefully they are able to ship and indulge my intense love for online ordering

There's something magical about clicking a few buttons and having something delivered to your front step a few days later

I bought a DGM box on a whim and pulled a Ral Zarek , Voice of Resurgence every Guild leader and pretty much any card worth more than 10 dollars. the total in rares equaled 160 Avg price. Prob the best box ive ever bought. so yea if your in Portland,Oregon go to Hoopla Sports Cards (my LGS) this guy always have boxes that put out

If you're in Portland, my favourite store there was Guardian Games just because they did waaaay more than MTG and card games. All in all shopping around is your best bet. Personally I buy from Amazon just because I never dropp more than 100$ (always under) never get taxed, and I have free 2 day shipping via Prime as you can see in the link. I'd support my local card shop if it wasn't full of greedy assholes who care not for the customer base. I'd also buy from work with my discount but the price is way to steep for that even. Besides my greatest luck of pulls was from an online box a total of 6 Planeswalkers from my SoM box (granted that was just really lucky since it is all random lol)

Yea alot of LGS have greedy owners who too be honest were made fun of Alot in highschool and they take it out on their customers. Me and my friends dont look like many of the people who are associated with Magic. we look like Jocks and "Bros" and there are a couple shops we cant even go into in Portland because were immediately shunned. HOWEVER Guardian Games is a great shop. Red Castle Gaming is another one that is great in portland. Hoopla is my favorite however. the Owner is actually partnered with a guy who I think has Mild Down Syndrome but runs the shop and he is so much fun to be around. He is super nice tells funny jokes and loves anyone who comes in. Avid suporter of LGS <<

My LGS is greedy when it comes to singles. I order all my singles online. But the last box I bought was an avalon vox during gate crash, and it cost $110 flat. I've never been charged tax there, which is awesome cause the tax in NY is ridiculous. I love everyone at Brothers Grim Games and Collectibles, in Sheldon NY (Long Island). Great people and prices. They accept money down on preorders as long as they get the rest eventually, and they remember customers by name. I love it and definitely support them as much as possible.

I'm actually thinking about switching to another LGS. My current one has a rewards program where if you fill up a card, you get $50 of free merchandise (before discounts) and you need to spend $250 in 6 months to fill it up. For preordering boxes, you can either pay $110 (more than the MSRP for a box) or pay the full price for each individual pack and get double punches (filling up an entire card in one purchase). You would think they'd give punches for the $110 box, but apparently to them it's a "discounted price" because you aren't "paying the full price for each pack", which I think is complete BS.

That's how my store work acbooster I work for a local small gaming store that does board/card/everything ganes and we do sell boxes, with the dumbest of all "discounts" 5% off the packs so it becomes 3.79*36 + 10.2% sales tax = 150$ to but a box from us (obviously we have a loyalty card that only gets you 10% (my discount is 20%) but yea places that overcharge MSRP to turn a profit "because you don't pay full pack retail" are greedy assholes

Right, DukeNicky. There's a comic shop that's actually closer that doesn't have a loyalty program and they oinly sell products.
